Midterm conference at Srinagar was a grand success. The academic programme and hospitality was excellant.
19 th annual conference of the society will be held at Rotary Eye Foundation and Himalayan Bioresource Technology Institute, Palampur, Himachal Pardesh. The registeration charges fixed are as under:

Elections to Managing/Scientific committee are to be held this year. The schedule is as under:
Last date for receipt of nominations by the Hony.General Secretary 31 st August, 2005
Last date for withdrawl 30th,Sept,05
A list of contestants would be circulated amongst the candidates before withdrawl date.
The Elections are to be held for the following posts:
Managing Committee:
1. Vice-president (fromChandigarh)
2.Hony.General Secretary
3.Hony.Treasurer
4.Hony.Joint Secretary
5.Hony.Joint Treasurer
Scientific Committee:
6.Chairman Scientific Committee
7.Editor Journal.
(Minimum eligibility criteria for nomination to these posts is having been a member of managing/scientific committee
and having attended two meetings/three annual conferences of the society. The candidate should have been a member of the society for two years.)
Members managing committee:
Two members from each state.
Members scientific committee:
One member from each state.
Nomination form is enclosed with each letter, photocopy can be used if needed.
It has been proposed that Ophthalmologists from outside the region intending to join NZOS will be admitted as Nonvoting members.
Your Society has been affiliated to AIOS permanently.
