The Health care sector in India has shown a growth spurtwith the expansion of the corporate sector and the decision by the Central Government to establish six new AIIMS like Institutes and upgrade few more regional Medical Colleges. It is expected that when this occurs it will lead to an explosion of oppurtunites for the Health Care Managers.

The recent trend of Accreditation of Hospitals by NABH, under Quality Council of India also portends a bright future as the Indian Hospitals position themselves as a major health care hub for medical and health tourism.

The National Rural Health Mission which enters into its second year is also expected to show results, in order to meet the ideal of universal health care, despite few setbacks in the field of Polio eradication and resurgence of vector borne diseases. The challenge before all of us is immense and yet we must strive hard to provide quality health care at all levels.
