- The 3yr 4 month girl from Durgapur, West Bengal, about 170 km from Calcutta. - Durgapur houses many mineral based indusrty including Durgapur Steel Plant of Steel Authority Of India (SAIL). Now the case: - Baby little bit 'healthy' since mid april - complaining at times about leg pain - Always a bit hyperactive - fever for 1 day on 20.4.10 - doc suggested regular medicine for 3 days and 1 urine routine RE - on 21.04.10 albumin ++++ - re-examination on 22.04.10 gives again ++++ - swollen eyes in morning from 22.04 to 24.04 - doc suggested to admit in the company hospital for monitoring and treatment - Blood examination on 24.05 gives albumin 1.7, cholesterol @ 406 - Urine routine on 26.05 shows +++ - Finally admitted on 28.05 - Urine on 30.05 show -Ve albumin with serum albumin @ 1.86 and cholesterol @ 526 - Looked to be much less swollen - Spontaneously the change occured without any medicine - Discharged on reqeust on 02.05.10 morning for further treatment at Calcutta - Consulted a paed - nephro @ Calcutta on 03.05.10 & tests done - Serum albumin was 1.86 and urine again ++ on 03.05 - on 05.05 urine RE shows ++ - on 07.05 urine RE shows +++ - Consulted paed nephro @ Calcutta on 08.05.10 and medicine started - Wysolene @ 35 mg / day - Swollenness persists but some what lesser than end of April. - Question is : Is the re-lapse bit faster? - Whether these sort of 'quick' relapses generally normal or may lead to something more? - All through her intake was around 1400 to 1600 ml and output was 900 to 1400 ml-- Is the urination 'less' enough as compared to similar phases of nephrotic cases? - What are the side sffects of 'Wysolene' and what is the proportion as per History? - I am not finding Uristix in Calcutta. Are they available online or elsewhere? Is there any suitable alternative? Where are they available? What about albustix? Are they good enough? - Is there any other medical advises or further diagonostics necessary at this time?
