my niece INES is in the coma due to intracranial pressure. she is only 4 yo...she had brain surgery to remove an haematoma. The next day following the surgery a complication occurred and she had a second surgery where the doctors removed some parts of the scull to release the brain pressure. Shes in the coma since this New Years Eve. She breathes on her own, she opens her eyes, moves her head, she reacts to our voice by breathing intensively or opening the eyes...it is painful to write about it, and the wait is the most painful of all. Does anyone one of you know a similar case and its outcome? is she feeling any pain right now ( due to spasticity syndrome or other)? Should she be under hyperbaric oxygen therapy instead of breathing on her own? just today she had other complications and the doctors say it's either due to coagulated blood in her lungs or to infections with germs of somesort...should we let her go??
