Does my wife has arthritis?   Posted By Rakesh Jain    Date : 24-Nov-08   02:43 AM     Reply

My wife is 28 years old having body weight of 50 kgs. From last few months, she has elbow pain in both the hands, with occasionally swelling and burning pain. We are residing in Colombo, Sri Lanka and visited a Rheumatologist here, he asked us to get some blood reports and concluded that she does not have arthritis but a Chronic pain syndrom. The report results are as follows: Rheumatoid factor- <30IU/ml (negative) ESR 1st hour - 24 MM C. Reactive Protein - 2.6 mg/L CK (C.P.K.) - 65.0 U/L T.S.H. 3rd generation - 2.37 min/ml Heamoglobin- 8.11 g/dl Main cell volume- 60.1 fl Main cell Haemoglobin- 18.4 pg Platelet count- 232 x 10^9/L Red blood cells- 4.41 10^12/L Anti nuclear factor- Negative

He prescribed these medicines- Prodep 20 mg, Flexicare cod liver oil, Zycel 200 mg, Omez 20 mg, Relaxon. I seek your advise whether she has arthritis. Do we need to come back to India or continue the treatment here? Are we on the right track? A detailed advise and opinion would help to plan things in better way.
