Trigeminal Neuralgia   Posted By divesh    Date : 29-Apr-08   03:52 AM     Reply

My mother aged 53 years is suffering from TN since last 5 years. It started after the tooth extraction. She started taking carbamezapine ( 3 tablets a day ). After taking a medication for 2 years she got a complete relief from pain for about 6 months. But then it again started. Now she can't tolerate such intensive pain at this age. We are thinking of some surgical procedure or any alternative medicine which could cure TN. I have heard about MVD surgery. Please let me know whether this surgery is harmless or not. And what could be the possible side effects after having MVD.
