Relevance of Current Hospital Planning Standards   Posted By PREM PRAKASH    Date : 15-Aug-07   10:55 AM     Reply

Hospitals are now being taken as a place not only for medical care but also for promoting life style, health education, health counselling areas of recreation and relaxation. It is somehow more difficult to plan and construct a hospital than any other building. Archietects &and interior designers have more requirement in current day of planning as they bring creative thoughts and attraction in the building. Today we find facinating ICUs, neonatal Centres, Maternity homes and so on, all medical specialities are taking a makeover change. It could also be a fact that no clear planning mannuals are availaible for planning a hospital even the size of OPD is not standardised. Do we need only designers and contractors to construct a hospital or copy the current system availaible in some reputed hospital? Why isn't a standardised practice used to construct a hospital when there is a standardised treatment procedure for any ailment(for most of cases)?
